Annihilation Time played what was touted as their last show on Sunday of Chaos en Tejas, in a pizza parlor no less with the almighty Midnight. of course people were yelling "turn up the ovens!!!" when it was already at least 120. ceiling fan blades were full force punched off mid rotation, giant carnival stuffed animals were disemboweled (there were Styrofoam pellets EVERYWHERE, even in my beer!), and people stood outside the windows of the parlor like they were watching in on zoo animals. i've followed this band since day one and who knew that first 7" that i poured sick love over would be improved upon this much? who knew they come out and play a fairly tame first Chicago show at a suburban sportsplex and then i'd end up seeing them off in all the glorified madness they deserve. what i did know (or at least guessed) is that playing sxsw showcases would be a bore for them and they'd decide to call it quits knowing that that's not how they want to function, amongst other things i'm sure.
i started getting a weird vibe when the show started that Jimmy and my first love, first everything, blah blah blah look similar from the profile, especially with a hat turned back.
then i got home, examined this old photo and realized that one is Puerto Rican, one is Native American and neither really look alike. this is Chris, on a family vacation in the summer of 91, hating ever minute of it. he's unfortunatly not wearing a "Red Fox Gun Club" hat either.

this is someone being surfed OUT THE FRONT DOOR.
that shirt looks fucking insane!!
