walking down the center of broadway (legally) post-pride parade. met head-on with this couple, as if they dropped out of the sky or emerged from a vapor. it seemed like they had a natural force field that gently pushed the crowd away, leaving a safe and wide lane for them and only them to stroll through while (drunk white people) madness surrounded their alley of respite. a full bore crust lord and a small man who could double as the ambassador for every simpleton you'd walk by everyday without a flinch. i was pissed when i got this photo back and saw how out of focus and poorly defined it was. now i'm kinda happy to see that the mystery of their relationship won't back down.

i keep asking myself to recall the circumstances in which i have felt the most free/strong/motivated, mostly because i'm not feeling any of those things and haven't for some time.  realizing that the former part of this Crowley quote harnesses those times exactly.

at some point Skolnik and i are going to marry our creative sensibilities and construct something that marries our loves of textiles and sound.  we also need to make friendship amulets LIKE NOW! 

was approached about submitting a piece for an art show centered around album covers but i don't know if that's still a hot issue.

photographing all staff and facilities at Colourline, the salon my sis works at, for their updated website and consulting on web design/layout. 

Vintage Bazaar in May (if i get in, fingers crossed), and thrift trips until then to build up stock.

designing and producing a new line of wallets, something like 10 designs.  (they sold out at Inkling in a hot minute!)

succulent workshop on the back porch with my ladies...wait till you see this book i got at the flea market.

and continuing to choke on the voluminous,sprawling and consuming love that's filling me up these days and gently guiding me out of Chicago and toward the West.  did i mention i'm trying to move?

PART 4
I can almost categorically guarantee that in 2011 you will have no encounters with fire demons, wart-ridden vampires, two-headed dogs, moaning ghosts, wayward werewolves, or extraterrestrial robots. Nope. You can pretty much go ahead and make plans based on the assumption that you won't have to account for intrusions like that. But I can also assure you that the lack of crazy encounters with unhinged monsters does not mean your life will suffer from blahs or boredom. On the contrary: I think this could be one of your most interesting years in a decade. To prepare yourself, make sure you don't unconsciously equate adventure with chaos; imagine what it would be like to experience mystery and intrigue that uplift you.

survival and the animal in man (and sometimes the hidden woman in a man)

i'm made aware of many things lately. some days i know these things to be pure observations and the consequences of having eyes that open and flesh that reacts and with this, my day will continue just like the last and tomorrow's much like today (the world will still blindly rotate and i will survive as i will myself to do). other days i play victim to these acknowledgements; the merciless world is out to get me (and everyone) and i'm (we are) forced into a framework of constant struggle, wondering how to survive when your umbilical winds and stops at a life force that's spoiled.  and then i watch videos of Pete Burns and everything makes sense.

"yeah but i'm a survivor, everyone is potentially a survivor it's just they give up far too easily. a survivor can get tired, let them sleep, get back up and survive. but, there's really no reason for anything to break anybody ever. that's a choice to let things break you."
