updates

-it's still cold
-Repo Man is still genius
-printed fabric to make couch pillows, couch pillows ov magik
-Twin Peaks still scares the shit out of me but my mom's not in the house anymore to help me sleep easier over it
-having day dreams about the Cold Cave show coming up where the entire room is dancing and sweaty and losing their minds but i'm sure it'll be on the level of library-active.
-paid $10 to see Adam Franklin. more like paid $10 to have awesome-as-always talks with Gagovski (intellectualizing Depeche Mode, warming up dudes to pegging, why i can only date dudes who are at a minimum 10% gay)
-not the best thing to listen to on your way to work/start your day with but that's been the case for like a month:

i'm like spiderman.

i miss warm weather, downtown LA, shopping off the sidewalk for every color off knock of ray bans, pedal worship, saying "Notting'm", whiskey, and Mike's crazy hair.

lordy: The Undisputed Truth

working with the menopausal set of America forces me to listen to lots of oldies radio. but i love when this comes on, such a jaaaaaaam.

"oh look, a live video. OMG, WEIRDEST BIRDS!!!" absolute ruling right here.

shuts me down til i'm forced to find a corner of my apartment and just sit and listen.

check out this rad light

funny things i saw this week

1. the singer of Immolation's hair cape. tell me that business hasn't gotten caught up in a butt wipe. probably caked with poo and who knows what other gross shit. (#1.5 should be a photo of hang-outs and beers with Hofer after the show but i've got nothing.)

2. joey came to visit and we hung out with Hurst. love these two dearly.

3. Brian Posehn. felt like i got beat up for like three hours after this from laughing so HARD. stealing "circle-slash that" (it'll replace "yeah.. no") from him.

4. went to a show on the southside that was set in a warehouse (they live in the whole f'n thing) occupied by everyone's favorite typical Art Institute Rich Twats. it was set up like a haunted house/fun house (which in theory sounds rad to me); individual rooms with themes like "let's build a twisted looking kitchen scene completely out of cardboard with a burly killer chef chilling over the sink", walls made out of two plastic sheets with mountains of beer cans piled between the layers, committing to red light bulbs exclusively etc etc. here's a man made mannequin with it's butt in the air, loaded with popcorn, telling you to munch on.

crafty grandma vs. disenchanted teenager

1. Fucked Up shirt that never fit right
2. blue and white flannel
3. pixelated floral fabric
4. rad sweatshirt

= patch worked upside down cross back patch

i'm wearing this thing every time i get tattooed now b/c i can hide my face when things start to get rough.

updates:perpetually stoked

stoked that i found out i have a brother and HE'S MEXICAN. stoked that we get paid to get hammered, play our favorite records and be hilarious perverts.

stoked that my pen pal therapist is coming to stay this week. stoked that i'm closing all the doors in my apartment and we're only allowed to communicate with slips of paper under the door to maintain true faceless pen pal relations.

stoked to read this:

CHRISTOPHER MICHAEL HOWK
1/17/77-12/6/09

RECIPROCITY 17 YEARS PAST DUE
(also my surprise birthday gift from my thoughtful best friend)

updates:stoked

watching this daily:

stoked to play RP outside of the confines of my apartment REALLY LOUDLY the other night. (forever a 15 year old Mitch Harris worshiping boy)

stoked that Bill and i are lifers.

stoked that i have 9 more weeks of studio time and digging through my books has left me with a pile of images to print and experiment with. (maybe not so stoked that i always go back to nature or the occult. move on.)

stoked to open myself up to trades with people again. you like what i do, i like what you do, let's work something out. i miss that and printing for tattoos sounds solid to me.

stoked to see Canadian Riffle again. new songs are kinda grim and gave me the warm & fuzzies.

stoked on the gypsy knockout being totally nonchalant with a panther on my leg.

stoked to get out of town, if even to Rockford. thrift store voyages and hangs with Wes.

stoked that December is over and with that the setting of the longest, deepest, most motivation-sucking dark days i've had in years.

stoked to get back to the gym and get rid of the flub those days packed on.

FUCKIN' RIGHT.

putting it out there

2010 (and beyond):

learn to fucking shred
print my ass off
grow my brain
see beautiful things
lend myself to pleasure when it's being offered (don't chase!!)
never settle
let the natural course of things be the natural course of things
don't think too hard about any of this

these aren't resolutions. coincidentally, i woke up this morning with a wave of clarity and it was January 1st.
