i'm not much for tribute cds...it seems the 90's was so bombarded with those that any sense of tribute is overshadowed by the novelty of it all and then of course you have assholes putting their spin on classics when you just want them to play the damn song, or at least render a version you can equate to the original in some way, even behind some yelping or a newly added horn intro . BUT! i just heard a version of my FAVORITE SONG EVER (this is not phony emphasis) covered by one of the best bands ever. the tribute is called "just like heaven" and the wedding present covers "HIGH". i heard it on the juxtaposition radio show from last week. too bad the wedding present didn't do the cover when i saw them a couple months ago. i like it, but it's a little off to hear such a jaded nonchalant trying to channel king pussypants.

That's one of my favorite Cure songs as well. I remember contemplating stealing that tape from an Omni grocery store as a kid, but buying it instead later down the line.
